Paedophile Jailed on Terror Charges
A paedophile serving ten years for child abuse has been jailed for a further four years on terror offences.
Twisted Martin Panton, 49, researched making explosives from his terraced home in Parkwood Street, Keighley.
Anti terror police and an Army Bomb Disposal unit swooped on the street, last year, and evacuated scores of local residents.
Panton was sentenced yesterday afternoon at Leeds Crown Court to four years in prison after pleading guilty to six offences under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 (possessing a record containing information useful for terrorist purposes) and four offences under Section 4 of the Explosive Substances Act 1883 (possessing and making an explosive substance).
He was arrested by officers from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit in September 2016 after the discovery of explosive material at his home address.
Terror Bomb Scare Paedo Jailed with his Former Lover for Twisted Sex Crimes
Paedophile lovers who subjected a schoolgirl to a catalogue of sex abuse have been jailed for a total of 15 years.
Martin Panton, 49, and Katherine Pengilley, 54, began having sex with their victim when she was just 12 years old
Twisted Panton – who is to face terror charges at Westminster Magistrates’ Court after he sparked a bomb scare at his former terrace home in Keighley – was caged for 10 years and Pengilley for five years after admitting to the prolonged and habitual abuse spanning from 2000 to 2005.
Judge Colin Burn, sentencing the pair at Bradford Crown Court, told them:”You were using and abusing her on a very regular basis.
”In cases of sexual offending against a child, time is not a great healer. If anything, the longer the time goes on the greater the damage.
“The offences only came to light last year, and up to then your victim would have been suffering in silence.”
Bakery worker Pengilley, of Williams Road, Steeton, broke down in tears as the full sickening details of her crimes were outlined.
Prosecutor Patricia Doherty said Panton and Pengilley were a couple when they took the girl, then aged 12 , to a caravan in Hornsea.
During the night Panton woke the girl up because he was upset that his friend had died of cancer. They went for a stroll on the beach where he had sexual intercourse with the girl
When Pengilley found out soon afterwards her only complaint was that he’d not used a condom.
Pengilley then encouraged the abuse and bought the girl a vibrator as a present soon afterwards.
She would get the girl to masturbate Panton to arouse him before she herself had sex with him.
On one occasion whilst Panton was in bed with the complainant, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, Pengilley joined them for a threesome.
Despite Pengilley and Panton being in a relationship, Panton introduced the girl as his girlfriend to his parents. Pengilley would call the teen a ‘slapper’ and a ‘whore’ despite encouraging the sickening abuse for her own and Panton’s gratification.
The girl reported the crimes to police, last year, after finding the courage to come forward.
Panton pleaded guilty to four counts of indecency with a child and two charges of indecent assault.
Pengilley admitted two counts of indecency with a child and two charges of indecent assault.
Panton is to be dealt with in coming months for allegations of possessing explosives.
