Alvaston rapist jailed
A rapist from Derbyshire who sexually assaulted two girls has been jailed for 18 years.
Derby Crown Court was told Peter Parker’s offences dated back to the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The 50-year-old was accused of sexually assaulting or raping two young girls over the course of several years but denied the charges and took the case to trial.
He was charged with two counts of indecent assault, one count of rape and one of gross indecency with a child under the age of 14.
Parker, of Griffin Close, Alvaston, pleaded not guilty to the offences but was convicted by a jury at Derby Crown Court.
He has now been jailed for 18 years and must sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
