Man jailed for abusing young girl
Offences of indecency committed over a 16-year period has led to a man being jailed for four years.
Philip Preston Hicks, 32, unemployed of Chacewater pleaded guilty to six offences of of indecent assault and gross indecency against children aged under 13-years-old
He also admitted assaulting a social worker causing him actual bodily harm
The judge sentenced Hicks to four years for the indecency offences and six months, concurrently for the assault.
He told Hicks that he had systematically abused his young victims. In two cases, the abuse had resulted in tangible psychological harm
The children involved were both aged under 10-years-old
Hicks was in tears as left the dock to go to the cells
