A man from St Austell has been jailed for 10 years for sexually assaulting two girls who he groomed with sweets and gave alcohol.
Simon Couch, 48, molested one girl repeatedly over two years, a court heard.
Couch, of Dobell Road, St Austell, was found guilty of five counts of indecent assault by a jury last year.
The court heard the offences took place when the two girls were aged between nine and 11 in the late 1990s.
Both victims had been left with serious psychological damage and one developed problems with drink and drugs as a teenager, Exeter Crown Crourt heard.
The 48-year-old was sentenced to seven years behind bars for three cases of indecent assault.
That is to run concurrently with a three-year sentence for gross indecent assault.
He was also given three years for another count of indecent assault, with an extended license of one year.
Couch has been handed a sexual harm prevention order and will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Recorder Mr Jonathan Barnes told Couch: “You are still in denial as to what you did to these two young girls and are still making unpleasant allegations of dishonesty against one. It is perfectly clear you have no remorse for what you did.”
