Dark Justice filmed confronting pervert lorry driver after he groomed ’13-year-old girl’ online
This is the moment a pervert came face-to-face with paedophile hunters who caught him trying to meet a ’13-year-old girl’ for sex.
Lorry driver Michael Billham, 52, sent “vulgar” messages asking for sex to a decoy profile he thought was a schoolgirl.
He then travelled to Newcastle city centre to meet her – but instead was confronted by members of Dark Justice, a paedo-hunting vigilante group, who had been posing as the teen.
Billham made contact with the ‘girl’ on an online teen chat website in September last year.
Stating his true age on the website, he said: “I would like to meet you.”
Prosecutor Mark Giuliani told Newcastle Crown Court : “The group responded with ‘I am 13’ and then there follows what can only be described as vulgar messages from the defendant to who he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
“There was an intention for penetrative activity.”
In the group’s footage of its members confronting Billham on September 30 last year, a man can be heard saying: “The girl that you’re here to meet, sir, how old is she?”
He replies: “I’m not meeting anybody.”
The Dark Justice member then reveals his true identity and tells Billham the police are on their way.
Billham, from Brunswick, Newcastle, later admitted to police he had been “so stupid”.
He pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and was given a 12 months prison sentenced suspended for two years with rehabilitation
He must also complete a sex offender treatment programme and sign the sex offenders register for 10 years, and was given a sexual harm prevention order for five years.
The court heard Billham, who lost his lorry driving employment as a result of the conviction
