Child sex offender Eric Tenain jailed for further six years
A former Crundale man jailed for sexually assaulting a young girl has been sent to prison for a second time.
Eric Tenain, aged 50, had just completed the custodial element of a four year term when he was re-arrested after a second girl went to the police.
Today (Monday) he was jailed for six years and four months after he admitted sexually assaulting a girl when she was aged seven or eight.
Tenain – who has lived in St Davids and Trefin but before being jailed in 2015 lived at Crundale – denied rape.
The pleas were accepted by the prosecution at Swansea crown court after the victim and her family had been consulted.
Ian Wright, prosecuting, said Tenain had held the girl down on a bed and sexually assaulted.
When she asked him to stop he placed a hand over her mouth to stop her from screaming and slapped her across her head.
Mr Wright said that after his arrest Tenain gave police a short, written statement but refused to answer questions.
Police asked him to explain a comment he had made in 2015 about “this horrible lust thing that I have.”
But he would not elaborate.
Mr Wright said in a victim impact statement the girl said she suffered flashbacks and nightmares and a feeling that life was not worth living.
Tenain’s barrister, Ieuan Rees, said the latest offending had been a single incident and not a course of conduct.
He said French born Tenain intended moving back to France when he was free to do so.
Judge Keith Thomas ordered Tenain to register with the police as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
