Rodgers had claimed that almost 300 images had been put on his computer by an unnamed person during a party.
Sheriff Morag Galbraith told Rodgers that by the slightest of margins, he had escaped a prison term.He was put on a Community Payback Order which includes three years of supervision and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to undertake alcohol counselling and was banned from unsupervised internet use and from contacting under 17s.
