JAILED: Man who had 548 indecent photos and 16 videos of children
A pervert who had sexual images and videos of children being raped has been jailed for 12 months.
He had also sexually abused a child himself, for which York magistrates had given him a community order.
Police found 16 videos of the most serious category of children being sexually abused, on Isaac Owen Moon’s phone, said Rob Galley, prosecuting.
They also found 66 pictures of the same category and 482 pictures of the least serious category, York Crown Court heard.
Released on bail, he went on to download pseudo and prohibited sexual images of children onto a laptop.
The computer had a specialized browser that could access illegal websites and wiping software.
Moon, of no fixed address, admitted two sets of offences of having illegal sexual images of children, but claimed he hadn’t deliberately downloaded the most serious.
After hearing him give evidence, the Honorary Recorder of York, Judge Paul Batty QC, rejected his claim, saying he had deliberately searched the internet for the most serious type of illegal sexual images.
As well as jailing Moon for 12 months, he put him on the sex offenders’ register for ten years and made him subject indefinitely to a sexual harm prevention order to protect children.
