Raid at home of perverted pensioner uncovers child and animal sex abuse images
A RAID at the home of a perverted pensioner uncovered his collection of child and animal sex abuse images.
Paedophile Michael Ward was caught with more than 1,000 images of child sex abuse along with images of human sex acts with horses, dogs, octopus and eel.
The 70-year-old admitted four counts of possessing the indecent images at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday.
Essex Police are understood to have been tipped off by officials from the National Crime Agency before raiding his home.
Devices were taken away and examined by experts and found the catalogue of images brought together from December 2014 to January 2016, when the warrant was carried out.
Ward had 210 of the most vile category A images of children, 251 at category B and 913 at category C.
He was also caught, on January 15, with the “grossly offensive” images involving a range of animals including fish and molluscs.
Judge Charles Gratwicke ordered Ward, of Stevens Lane, Felsted, that he will be placed on the sex offenders’ register.
He was also banned from unsupervised contact with those aged under 16. He will be sentenced after November 22.
