Norwich medium jailed for child sex abuse
A man who worked as a spiritualist medium in Norwich has been jailed for four years and placed on the sex offenders register for life after sexually abusing a six-year-old girl.
Andrew Clack, 53, carried out the abuse on two occasions and when the matter came to light police were informed and Clack arrested,
Clack of Clover Road, Bowthorpe, Norwich, admitted two counts of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Michael Clare, for Clack, said: “He works unusually as a medium. He can earn £150 a week. He lives alone with his dog.”
He said the abuse only happened on two occasions and said Clack was full of remorse. He said Clack deserved credit for his guilty plea which spared the child giving evidence in court: “It has taken him some time to come to terms with what happened. He knows he needs professional help.”
He said that Clack still had the support of a huge number of friends, but had also lost many friends as a result of his conviction: “The matter has received a great deal of attention from local residents and he has lost lifelong friends.”
