Pc admits sex assault on boys
A Metropolitan Police officer with an exemplary record yesterday admitted sexually abusing two boys.
Pc Michael Cox (33), molested an 11-year-old and 13-year-old at his home – and even abused them in front of each other.
Cox, who had a seven-year career with the police, appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court and admitted four counts of indecently assaulting a child under 16.
He was committed to Kingston Crown Court for sentencing.
Mr Laurence O’Donnell, prosecuting, said Cox assaulted the children at his Epsom home on about March 12.
Mr Barry Barnes, defending, said public school educated Cox, the son of an Army colonel, joined the Metropolitan Police force after dropping out of Sandhurst.
Cox, who was based at Epsom police station, was suspended following his arrest on March 16 after one of his victims told their mother.
Unshaven and unkempt Cox made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.
A date has not yet been fixed for him to be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court.
