DJ admits series of sexual offences against schoolgirl
A former DJ has been sentenced to three years in jail after admitting a series of sexual offences against a 15-year-old girl.
Matt Underwood, 37, of Saunderson Road, Stocking Farm, Leicester, was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to possessing indecent images of a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The court heard that he met the girl in a city pub where he was a DJ, and knowing her age, encouraged her to engage in sexual activity between July and November of last year.
Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Sada Bains, from the force’s Child Sexual Exploitation team, said there could be more victims of Underwood.
She said: “Despite knowing the victim’s true age, Underwood was persistent in contacting her.”
