Redditch man admits downloading more that 20,000 child abuse images
A REDDITCH man has pleaded guilty to downloading more than 20,000 child sexual abuse pictures and videos.
Charles O’Neill, aged 67, of Foxlydiate Crescent, admitted eleven charges of making indecent images of children when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court.
Judge Robert Juckes ordered a pre-sentence report and told him all sentencing options would be open when he returns to court on July 20.
O’Neill admitted making 18,899 images at level 1, the least serious, between August 2010 and June 2011. He also admitted having a total of 18 moving images including one at level 5, the most serious, between the same dates.
O’Neill also pleaded guilty to having 613 indecent images of children at level 1 between May 2010 and June 2010 and a total of more than 50 moving images, including four at level four, between the same dates.
He was granted bail on condition he does not have contact with children under 16, work with them or belong to any group or society involving children. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
