Pervert (27) locked up for sexually assaulting 14-year-old girl in hotel
A pervert has been locked up after luring a young girl to a hotel, plying her with booze and drugs and sexually assaulting her.
Zabed Shah, from Oldham, was arrested after being found at the same Manchester hotel with two other teenagers who had been reported missing from home.
A court heard how the 27-year-old had taken the victim, aged 14, and a friend who was 13, to the hotel with another older man in December, last year.
Both were given alcohol before Shah sexually assaulted one of the girls. She reported the incident to police who launched an investigation. A week later, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old girl were reported missing to Greater Manchester Police .
Officers from the force’s Project Phoenix, which works with agencies to safeguard vulnerable young people, received information that Shah was back at the same Manchester hotel where he had taken his young victims previously.
When they arrived they discovered Shah and another man Abdul Latif, 30, in a room with the two missing girls who were both under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Shah, of Hancock Close, Oldham, pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a child, attempting to pay for the sexual services of a child and supplying Class A drugs. He was sentenced on Thursday at Minshull Street Crown Court to three years in prison.
He will have to sign the sex offenders register for ten years.
Latif, of Oundle Close, Oldham, was also jailed for 27 months after admitting supplying Class A drugs.
