Woman photographed herself abusing boy and sent images to pervert
A WOMAN who sexually assaulted a child and sent photos of the abuse to an oil rig supervisor has been jailed .
Caroline Greig was caged for three years and nine months.
Her co-accused Steven McLachlan, who received more than 40 pictures of the boy being abused, was handed the same sentence.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard that Greig, 47, sent the depraved images to McLachlan, 52, on Facebook Messenger while he was working on the Ninian South platform in the North Sea.
Judge Lady Carmichael told the perverts: “I cannot distinguish between you.
“The only appropriate disposal is the imposition of a custodial sentence.”
In court last month, Greig and McLachlan admitted sex assault and making indecent child photographs.
The hearing was told father-of-two McLachlan encouraged Greig to abuse the boy, who was “clearly prepubescent”.
Prosecution lawyer Tim Niven-Smith said: “His encouragement led to Caroline Greig perpetrating sexual acts.”
The court heard the paedophiles were “acting out a sexual fantasy”.
The abuse happened at a house in the Lothians last October.
Greig used to work offshore and stayed in touch with former colleagues.
Through them, she hooked up with McLachlan on Facebook and the pair’s social media relationship became sexual.
Niven-Smith said offshore shutdown supervisor McLachlan, of Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, had never met Greig or had any physical contact with the child victim.
