Pervert jailed for possession of 300,000 indecent images of children

A Worthing man has received a four-year prison sentence for offences relating to more than 300,000 indecent images of children.

Geoffrey Hollington 67, of Heene Terrace, Worthing, had already been given a suspended sentence two years ago for similar offences.

On 24 April 2014 at Brighton Crown Court, he had been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to nine offences of making indecent images of children, one offence of possessing indecent images of children with intent to distribute them, and one offence of possessing extreme images.

On Friday (July 29th) this year he appeared at Chichester Crown Court and was sentenced to a total of four years, having pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to breach of the suspended sentence, to breach of a Sexual Offence Prevention Order also imposed in 2014, and to possession of indecent images of children, some of which were in the most serious category.

Hollington was served with Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) severely restricting his access to children and computers, and was also ordered to attend a sex offenders treatment programme.

He will also be registered as a sex offender ten years on his release from prison.
