Paedophile jailed for 14 years for abusing two little girls
A paedophile who raped a very young girl and sexually abused another has been jailed for 14 years.
Sick Glynn Robertson molested his “extremely young and vulnerable” victims for his own twisted sexual gratification.
The 38-year-old then denied any wrongdoing and forced the children to endure a trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
A judge slammed Robertson, from Birkenhead, for making his victims “relive their nightmares”, after he was found guilty of nine sexual offences
Judge David Aubrey, QC, said: “The victims in this case were extremely young. They were vulnerable.
“No right thinking member of society could have been anything but moved if they observed both girls giving evidence.
“They were – and I emphasise were – sweet, young, vulnerable, innocent children.
“You have taken away their innocence, and as far as one is concerned, you have taken away her virginity.”
Robertson was found guilty of raping a child under 13, two sexual assaults and six counts relating to sexual activity with a child under 13.
Judge Aubrey said: “Both of them during the course of their interviews were comforted by their doll or by their teddy bear.
“Both of them required assistance from a registered intermediary, such was their tender age and their extreme vulnerability.”
The court heard that Robertson’s second victim kept a diary, part of which was retrieved by the police.
Judge Aubrey said: “It was headed ‘worries and feelings’, accompanied with a sad face.
“Who had caused those worries? Who had caused those feelings? Who had caused that sad face? You.”
He said the first victim had not wanted to tell police what happened to her, asking officers: “Do I have to say it?”
The judge said: “Both of them had to relive their nightmares because you had no courage, you had no decency, to admit that which you had done.
“That of course does not and will not aggravate the seriousness of those offences, but it provides to you absolutely no mitigation whatsoever.”
