A pornography addict who accessed tens of thousands of adult images was caught with indecent pictures of children, a court heard.
Loner Mark Hambly, aged 53, spent hours each day looking at porn but ended up downloading 35 child photographs.
Police found search terms which would have brought up the sick images on his laptop computer, Plymouth Crown Court heard.
Hambly, of Carlton Terrace, Weston Mill, had pleaded guilty to five counts of making indecent images of children between 2008 and 2015.
The court heard he was cautioned for possession of indecent images of children in 2011, when he was put on the Sex Offender Register for two years.
Caroline Bolt, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said a computer at Hambly’s home was detected as accessing indecent images of children.
She added that police searched the home where he lived alone and seized a laptop.
Miss Bolt said it contained three Category A indecent images of children, 16 of Category B and 16 of Category C. Category A is most depraved bracket, showing children being abused.
The court heard that officers also discovered internet search terms which showed he had been looking for images.
Judge Darlow handed Hambly an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He must complete a course to tackle internet sex offending and 150 hours unpaid work.
Judge Darlow also passed a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order limiting his contact with children and to help monitor his internet use. He will also have to sign the Sex Offender Register for ten years.
