Man who took naked pictures of 14-year-old banned from every swimming pool in Britain
A Peeping Tom who “violated” a 14-year-old girl in a changing room by taking naked photos of her has been banned from every swimming pool in Britain.
Chuck Wood, 21, of Lower Innox, Frome, Somerset is forbidden from stepping foot in any of the UK’s 5,000 or so public pools after he admitted taking secret snaps of the child as she got dressed.
He was caught red-handed last December after the girl spotted him holding his gold-coloured phone under a cubicle partition and alerted her dad.
Wood was arrested after the incident at Splashdown Pool in Poole, Dorset and admitted one count of voyeurism at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court in May.
He has now been handed a 12-month community order, with a 25 day rehabilitation requirement by Somerset Magistrates, sitting at Yeovil.
He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offender’s Register for the next five years in addition to the year-long exclusion order from every UK public pool.
Emma Lenanton, prosecuting, said that the alarm was raised when police received a 999 call from a member of staff at the swimming pool.
She said: “They said that a male had been taking photos of a 14-year-old girl under the cubicle as she was getting changed.
“When the police arrived Wood was arrested and the phone that he was using was later discovered but the images had already been deleted.
“In a statement made to the police the young victim said the incident had left her feeling very shocked.
“She said she was now extremely worried about any images that may have been taken and had a fear they may have been placed on the internet.
“She also said she felt very uncomfortable about anyone seeing her naked and felt she had been violated by the defendant’s actions.”
