Man jailed for child sex grooming
A 41-year-old man from south Cumbria who sent obscene pictures to a 15-year-old girl’s mobile telephone has been sent to prison for a year.
David Taylor of Thornfield Place, Grange-over-Sands, was also put on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
Appearing at Carlisle Crown Court he pleaded guilty to grooming the girl for sexual purposes.
The court heard that he bombarded her with explicit messages and sent “utterly revolting” pictures.
In response the girl sent him texts which the judge said were “of a very explicit sexual nature”, the hearing heard.
Taylor admitted the offence on the basis that his behaviour would have resulted in the “inappropriate touching” of the girl, but would have stopped short of full sex, the court heard.
