Sex predator of children took overdose
A vile sexual attacker jailed for eight years tried to kill himself when he realised that he would have to face justice for his crimes
Kelvyn Ian Jackson, 36, sent a message to his family, which read: ‘Goodbye. If I did what they say I did – I love you all’,” prosecutor Steve Harmes told Cardiff Crown Court.
By the time police came to arrest him he had swallowed as many as 80 painkillers.
Jackson, who lived alone at Clos y Waun, Brackla, Bridgend, pleaded guilty to sexual assault, assault by penetration and two charges of attempted rape.
The court heard he had sexually abused two young girls who were aged just seven and 12 years old.
Jackson was also put on the Sex Offenders’ Register and banned from working with children for life.
