Telford man admits making indecent images of children

A Shropshire man has appeared in court charged with making indecent images of children, following a police investigation

David Follette, 49, of High Street in Hadley, Telford was charged with 10 offences on Friday.

Nine of the charges are for making indecent photographs of a child and the one for obstructing police officers – the later offence is in relation to software held on his computer, which caused a delay to the investigation.

Follette appeared at Telford Magistrates Court on Saturday where he pleaded guilty to the nine charges of making indecent images of children.

He has not yet entered a plea in relation to obstructing police.

Folletter has been remanded in custody by the courts and the case has been referred to Crown Court at a date yet to be decided.

In October 2014, police executed a warrant at Follette’s home seizing computer items.

These were then sent off for examination, and a total of 308 still and moving images were recovered, including images of the most serious nature.

The Internet Watch Foundation have a facility for reporting indecent images of young people and they can decide whether the image is illegal and will report it to the police if necessary.

If you have any serious concerns over indecent images of children then contact police on 101.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Please do not forward the images to anyone, including the police.
