A man has been found guilty after a weeks trial of:
Falsely imprisoning a teenage boy at his home in Grange Mount in Birkenhead threatening to kill him
Administering an noxious substance
Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
Neil Brian Gerrard Thompson, aged 34, has been jailed for six years at Liverpool Crown Court
Judge Sir Sanderson Temple QC said when sentencing Thompson, that he had been convicted of very grave offences. Over a period of hours, the recorder added, you subjected that boy to an horrendous ordeal
Mr Robert Atherton – prosecution – had told the court that having taken the boy – who must not be identified – into his house and had accused him of stealing some cannabis
When this was denied, he
Threatened to cut his throat with a pen knife
Tried to burn his hair with a cigarette lighter
Poured petrol on him and threatened to light it
Put washing up liquid into his mouth thinking if the boy had swallowed the cannabis then it would make him vomit.
Finally he turned to sexual and depraved acts by repeatedly indecently assaulting the boy.
