Paedophile already serving nine years for sexually assaulting a boy has now admitted being responsible for eight sexual offences against a second boy
A pervert who has admitted raping a boy has been warned by a judge his is facing a substantial prison sentence.
Anthony Vowles, 31, of Bridlington, is already serving nine years for sexually assaulting a boy and has now admitted being responsible for eight sexual offences against a second boy in Bridlington.
Vowels who used to live in Bridlington, appeared at Hull Crown Court on Wednesday March 4 and pleaded guilty to two offences of rape, one charge of inciting a child into sexual activity and six charges of sexually assaulting a child between July and December 2013.
Crown barrister John Thackray said the Crown were not surprised by the pleas, but were not in a position to open details of the case for sentence. He said Vowles was presently serving nine years for similar offences against a different boy, but those offences had not included rape.
Defence barrister David Cammidge said although he had not pleaded guilty immediately he had admitted the offences in time to gain maximum discount on his sentence. He said Vowles accepted he could not be sentenced straight away.
Judge Jeremy Richardson, QC, order Vowles to stand as he told him: “You have today pleaded guilty to very serious charges. As the circumstances appear at the moment, it will be a custodial sentence. Inevitably it will be a sentence of some substance. I need further information about you. I need to determine the issue of the danger you pose to the public and young persons. You have been sensible to plead guilty at this stage. That has saved a lot of anguish all round.”
He adjourned sentence until April 17.
