Child abuser jailed for the rape of girl

A man has been given an indeterminate prison sentence for raping a girl.

Judge Nicholas Webb told 26-year-old Charles Fereday it was clear he posed “a high risk of causing serious harm to children.”

Fereday, of Hordern Road, Whitmore Reans, Wolverhampton was found guilty on two charges of raping a girl under 13.

He was also convicted by the jury at the end of his trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court on two charges of causing the girl to engage in sexual activity.

Fereday must stay in prison until the authorities feel it is safe for him to be released.

And he ruled he should serve at least five years behind bars and also register as a Sex Offender for life.

He was also barred from working with children for life and from ever living in a house where children were present.
