Child porn shame of school boss

A FORMER Midland parish councillor and ex-chairman of school governors was given a three-year community order and ordered to register as a sex offender after admitting child pornography charges.

Richard Hubbard, of Little Beanit Farm, Waste Lane, Balsall Common, appeared before Solihull Magistrates yesterday after earlier pleading guilty to five counts of making indecent images of girls as young as six years old.

Carolyn Pickering, prosecuting, told the court that in February Hubbard had taken his computer in to be repaired and it was while working on the hard drive that the engineer spotted a file called Lolita.

“He checked further and found there were indecent images of children on the hard drive,” she said.

He admitted making an indecent photograph of a naked girl aged between six and eight years old and making three photos of a naked girl aged between eight and ten years old in January 2005.

The father-of-three also admitted that in December 2003 he downloaded a video of a teenage girl under the age of 16 being fondled by a boy.

Hubbard, a retired farmer, was a school governor at Balsall Common Primary School for 40 years until he quit the post at the beginning of the year.

He is also a familiar figure in Berkswell, having served on the parish council for 26 years, and was chairman when he resigned in March.
