Pervert breached court order

A Fife paedophile who got a 13-year-old schoolgirl pregnant is back behind bars after breaching a court order.

Charles Black failed to tell his supervising officer that he was in contact with his victim’s mother between September 6 and November 4 in 2018.

The 48-year-old also deleted text messages and call records between him and the woman in a bid to hide his tracks at an address in Dick Crescent, Burntisland.

The court was told that Black was contacted by his victim’s mother who wanted answers as to why he had got her young daughter pregnant in 2010, days after her 13th birthday.

He was made subject to a sexual offences prevention order in May 2018 which ordered him to report any contact with female friends or acquaintances.

The alarm was raised by Black’s victim who was concerned her mother had been in contact with the sex offender.

Depute fiscal Sarah Lumsden said: “At about 1.40pm on November 6, 2018, the police and social work attended at the accused’s home address.

“The accused answered the door and allowed access into his property.

“The accused was given the opportunity to advise the officers of anything he should report in terms of his SOPO and he stated there wasn’t.

“As part of his SOPO, an inspection of the accused’s mobile telephone was carried out.

“The accused was asked if he had deleted any data from his phone and he voluntary admitted that he deleted messages from the woman.

“As a result of this the accused’s black Sony mobile was seized and examined.

“The phone contained a number of messages, that had been deleted, between the accused and the woman in which they discussed meeting up.

“On November 26, DC Daglish made contact with the woman via telephone. She advised that she did not wish to engage with the police.

“She thereafter disclosed that she had been in contact with the accused. She stated that it was her that made the first contact with him.

“She stated she was looking for answers as to why the accused had done what he did to her daughter, as per his previous conviction.

“She stated that she never had face to face contact with the accused and was no longer in contact with him.”

Defence solicitor Dewar Spence said: “There is not much I can really say in relation to the offences.

Sheriff Grant McCulloch jailed Black for 16 months which will be back dated to November 28 when he was remanded in custody.

Black was previously jailed for three years and nine months for unlawful sex with an older child, which happened in the Levenmouth area.

Paedophile got schoolgirl pregnant weeks after her 13th birthday

A paedophile who got a schoolgirl pregnant just weeks after she turned 13 has been jailed for almost four years.

Charles Black, 41, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday after earlier admitting to having unlawful sex with the youngster, who cannot be identified.

Black, who has a previous conviction for indecency, had initially faced an allegation of rape.

Judge Lady Stacey sentenced him to three years and nine months for what she called “a serious matter”.

Black was also ordered to be supervised for a further two years on his release.

A court heard the pregnancy came to light after the girl’s mother told police how her daughter had revealed Black was the father of her son.

Tests confirmed Black, of Methil, Fife, was the father of the child, who was born last August.

Medical records showed he had sex with the schoolgirl in 2010 soon after her birthday.

Detective chief inspector Pauline McCallum who is in charge of Fife Constabulary’s Public Protection Unit said: “Fife Constabulary is committed to creating safer communities through the effective work of our Public Protection Unit in dealing with child abuse allegations.

“It demonstrates what can be achieved with close collaborative working with our partners within Fife Council Education Department, Social Work Service and NHS Fife. By doing so we are able to address those who pose significant risk to children and young people and are intent on causing serious harm within our communities.

“The swift manner in which Fife Constabulary and its partner agencies dealt with this case demonstrates that we are fully committed to tackling those who commit sexual offences whilst protecting those most at risk and supporting the victims of crime. In regard to this case it is clear that Black took advantage of the vulnerabilities around the 13-year girl.

“All victims of sexual crime should be assured that on every occasion an allegation is made to the Police that they will be provided with professional support and a pledge that it will be thoroughly investigated. The work of the Public Protection Unit is pivotal to this approach.”

Girl, 13, has baby by paedo, 41

A BRAZEN paedophile aged 41 was behind bars last night after he got a schoolgirl pregnant just weeks after she turned 13.

Vile Charles Black faced a charge of raping the youngster when she visited his home.

But the pervert’s guilty plea to a reduced charge of having sex with a minor was accepted at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday.

Advocate depute Susanne Tanner said the sickening offence emerged after cops visited the girl’s mum over another matter.

During a discussion, the woman told officers that earlier that evening, her daughter revealed Black, of Methil, Fife, had fathered her son.

She said the youngster was born in August last year. Tests confirmed Black was the father and medical records showed he had sex with the girl in 2010, weeks after her 13th birthday.

Judge Lady Stacey called for reports and remanded Black in custody before sentencing next month.

Black — who has a prior indecency conviction — had his name added to the sex offenders’ register.
