You mustn’t go upsetting the convicted paedophile

A MUM was yesterday found guilty of upsetting a pervert caught with a vile haul of child torture images — by branding him a “paedo”.

Whining sex beast Colin Murray, 60, insisted neighbour Lana Robertson had no cause to yell abuse at him in the street despite his sickening crimes.

The images found at Colin Murray’s house showed children aged about three to 14 years old involved in sex acts with adults and animals.

The shamed ex-cop — who also has a conviction for flashing — complained he was “distressed” after being targeted regularly by Robertson, 37.

He told Perth Sheriff Court that she shouted “paedo” outside his home and branded his partner a “paedo lover”.

Fiscal depute Rebecca Kynaston asked twisted Murray: “Do you feel the abuse you have taken is unjustified?” He replied: “Yes.”

his partner of 14 years, added: “I just want to live my life again. It’s been going on and on.”

Fiend Murray was jailed in 2008 for having a vile stash of pictures and film on his computer — including scenes of torture and rape of children as young as three.

Robertson denied verbally abusing him, saying she’d warned him not to speak to her kids as they were scared of him.

But she was convicted of causing him fear and alarm near his home in Perth in August and October 2011.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis told her: “I’m satisfied beyond reasonable doubt you shouted abuse at Mr Murray.”

Divorced Murray was working for insurance giant Norwich Union when cops found the horror files at his home.

He was handed an extended three-year sentence after Sheriff Robert McCreadie viewed videos which sent screams of abused kids echoing around the courtroom.

He then told Murray: “This is not a victimless offence.”

In 1986 Murray — then a serving officer with Tayside Police — was convicted of two charges of breach of the peace and one of indecent exposure. Robertson, of Perth, had sentence deferred for good behaviour for 12 months

Man jailed for child abuse images

A former Perth policeman has been jailed for a year after police discovered more than 550 videos and images of children being abused, during a raid at his home.

The images found at Colin Murray’s house showed children aged about three to 14 years old involved in sex acts with adults and animals.

When questioned by police he admitted paying hundreds of dollars to an American website for the collection.

Murray, 55, served as a Tayside Police officer more than 20 years ago.

‘Evil trade’

At Perth Sheriff Court, Murray admitted possessing indecent videos and images at his home in Goodlyburn Terrace, Perth, between 29 March 2005 and 15 November last year.

He will be monitored for a further two years after he is released from prison and he has been place on the sex offenders register for ten years.

Sheriff McCreadie told Murray: “People who engage in the business of child pornography through viewing such images contribute to the process of abuse and can be said to encourage the production of images.

“They provide the market for an evil trade. You do not acknowledge the sexual nature of your offending.”

In 1986, Murray was convicted at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on two charges of breach of the peace and one of indecent exposure.
