Rushden man jailed for breaching sexual harm prevention order
A dangerous paedophile has been sent to prison for almost two years for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Keith Tomlinson, 56, of Devon Walk, Rushden, pleaded guilty to the breach during a hearing at Leicester Crown Court on June 30.
Tomlinson is a convicted sex offender and was investigated by specialist officers from within Public Protection command following reports he had unauthorised contact with a person under the age of 16.
A swift investigation revealed he was seen walking along the street with an eight-year-old child, a clear breach of his SHPO.
Tomlinson, who was previously described as a “relentless, predatory paedophile” has spent more than 30 years behind bars for sex attacks on women and young girls
Tomlinson once raped a girl aged 11 at knifepoint after abducting her from a Girl Guides’ camp
He was also jailed in the past after he groomed a nine-year-old girl
Tomlinson received 21 months in prison.
Evil predator who targeted girl, nine
A “relentless, predatory paedophile” who has spent more than 30 years behind bars for sex attacks on women and young girls has been jailed again for grooming a nine-year-old girl from Northampton.
Keith Tomlinson, aged 43, who once raped a girl aged 11 at knifepoint after abducting her from a Girl Guides’ camp, was sentenced yesterday for indecently assaulting the youngster.
Bearded Tomlinson, of Cottage Gardens, Great Billing, admitted meeting and befriending the girl, who cannot be named, near her home in The Mounts last July.
He appeared at Northampton Crown Court for sentence after pleading guilty to one count of meeting a child following sexual grooming and one charge of sexual assault of a child.
Tomlinson is the first person in Northamptonshire to be convicted of sexually grooming a child. He was jailed for eight years with a two-year-extended sentence added on for when he is released.
Judge Charles Wide, told Tomlinson: “You are an absolutely relentless, predatory paedophile. I have no doubt whatsoever that your motivation is grooming , because that is what it was, of this nine-year-old girl.
“Your motivation and sole purpose was to prepare her for very serious sexual abuse.”
Tomlinson met the girl a number of times over a three-week period where he spoke to her, asking her to help mend his car, set her puzzles and offered sweets.
Maria Savvides, prosecuting, said he asked her to be his “little girlfriend” but she refused, saying she was too young.
He then held her and put some sweets down her T-shirt. Scared by his advances, the girl later took Tomlinson’s car registration number and told her mother what he had done.
Judge Wide said the suitable sentence for sex grooming was four years, but he had doubled that to take into account Tomlinson’s awful past crimes, including rape.
He added a further three years, to run concurrently, for the assault charge and banned Tomlinson from working with or being alone around young people for the rest of his life.
Richard Holloway, defending, said: “The aggravating features here are, of course, his previous convictions. He cannot get away from those facts nor can the court ignore them.”
